Abstract

Jawa Tengah province has the opportunity to become the center of agroindustry in Indonesia. This is supported by more than one Location Quotient (LQ) for these two sectors. In addition, Jawa Tengah's agricultural production based on food crops and horticulture is also one of the mainstays of national production. Inclusive economic growth also has the potential to be generated by the Jawa Tengah Province considering that the agroindustrial sector can take up almost half the share of the labor market in Jawa Tengah and the agricultural sector is also the mainstay of livelihood for more than one fifth of the poor population in Jawa Tengah. Investment options are also more optimal if disbursed in these two sectors because they can provide results in the form of additional output as well as greater employment absorption compared to investment disbursement to other sectors with the same amount. It is hoped that the economy of Jawa Tengah can be leveraged for its economic growth through increasing agroindustry output because it can reduce unemployment while reducing poverty.
